Hello everyone,
I have the following problem: I want to install the baseboards from Ikea Metod, but the floor in my kitchen is far from even. There are noticeable irregularities and slight warping, which make attaching the baseboards difficult. I am looking for a solution to securely and neatly fix the Metod baseboards without them sticking out anywhere or becoming loose later. Are there any proven techniques or materials you can recommend? Tips for preparing the floor or alternative fastening methods would also be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Timmyse3624 Jun 2023 10:02I’m in a similar situation, as I’m currently renovating my kitchen and struggling with the baseboards. It’s really frustrating when the floor isn’t level and you can’t simply install them straight.
What helped me was having a lot of patience and slowly adjusting the clips step by step, sometimes using small shims. I also tried to accept that a perfectly even edge isn’t always achievable. I hide minor irregularities afterward with matching silicone sealant.
I thought this was a very important point because otherwise the baseboard creaks or loosens quickly.
