Hello everyone,
I removed the carpet in one room, and underneath there was an old PVC floor that has to remain in place. Now, the floor is covered with carpet residue that can only be removed with a scraper. But if I have to scrape everything off, it will take weeks, and it’s also strongly adhered to the PVC. What can I do?

Hi,
you can rent a machine that removes this from the floor. However, if the old PVC underneath should not be damaged, this might not be feasible. You could try using a heat gun; it softens the residue, allowing you to carefully scrape it off the floor with a spatula. Good luck with that!

Hello,
try using a hairdryer to warm the residue; when heated with a hairdryer, it comes off more easily. This does not damage the surface underneath, and you don’t have to scrape as much. But I can only wish you that it goes away completely because that is a really nasty problem.

The key question is: Is the TEBO glued, secured, or loosely laid? If it is only secured or loosely laid, the problem might possibly be solved with warm water and some dish soap. If it is glued, I would consider contacting my liability insurance or just praying. 😀 😱 🙁
