Hello everyone,

Normally, my apartment has underfloor heating, including in the bathroom. Additionally, there is a towel radiator installed in the bathroom. At the handover of the apartment (ownership/new build), it was explained to me that this radiator is supplied with warm water through the regular heating circuit. Due to the low temperatures in the past few days, and since the underfloor heating was already turned off, I "activated" the radiator (wink). I then noticed that the radiator also has an electrical connection, a standard plug. Does anyone know what this is for? Is it intended to be used if the heating circuit is completely turned off?

Best regards

Photo?

That sounds like a heating cartridge, but usually there is no connection to the heating circuit in that case.

Are there any corresponding supply and return lines?

I just thought that might be common with underfloor heating, since the low supply temperatures alone are not enough.

However, I only know it powered entirely by electricity, without integration into the underfloor heating circuit due to the low supply temperature.

The heat exchanger is then filled with an alcohol-based fluid? At least with a special liquid.

Hello,

I have uploaded two pictures for you.

I can definitely heat using electricity, I checked that yesterday. As soon as the plug was connected, the electric meter showed over 700W.

Then, as expected, this is an additional heating cartridge. Useful for drying wet clothes or warming a towel after showering or bathing.

However, it does come at an extra cost.
