ᐅ Height of the top edge of the floor slab above street level

Hello,

we are planning a single-family house with a slab-on-grade foundation without a basement.

How high should the finished floor level be above the street level at the property boundaries?

Since our plot has a slope, we want to avoid raising it unnecessarily on one side to prevent excessive backfilling.

Is there a guideline or standard for this?

If nothing is specified in the development plan, for example: "According to § 9 (2) of the Building Code, the height of the top edge of the finished ground floor slab – measured at the center of the building – must be at least 10 cm (4 inches) and a maximum of 30 cm (12 inches) above the top edge of the finished access road."

How much extra workspace was excavated around the foundation slab at your site?

1m (3ft) more all around complete

Is 1m (3.3 ft) sufficient? Or is it advisable to excavate even larger?

I find it surprising that you, as a "bricklayer," are asking these questions.
