Our inspector says this is a defect, but the site managers disagree, arguing it can’t be seen from a 2m (6.5 ft) distance. What do you think?

The adhesive has been pushed out between the panes, see the picture....

So it’s clear: two see nothing, one sees something. No defect, just hallucinations.

That’s how I would put it.

When I stand in front of a window with a magnifying glass, I also see a lot...

The white border on the glass? I wouldn’t want that...

Or is it taped on from the outside?

I understand what is meant. Basically, the seal between the panes protrudes slightly on one side. We have the same issue in about half of our windows. But it is barely noticeable. Although I am extremely picky, I never even considered complaining about it.

Which white border? I only see the window frame.

Not the white edge. Between the panes, the sealant/adhesive protrudes.

Yes, in the lower third of the picture, between the two seals, some adhesive oozes out. It’s hard to photograph because both seals are black and the adhesive is transparent.

But you can already see in the picture that the area between the seals looks different.
