I know this is probably a silly question, but I really have no clue right now. In the past, I used to just hammer nails into the walls.

By now, I’ve become a bit more cautious about it. If I want to change positions later, I’d end up with lots of small nail holes in the walls.

How do you handle this? We have wallpaper. I’ve read about nano tape, which is said to hold pictures very securely, but opinions are very mixed on how well it can be removed.
I also don’t want to avoid a nail hole only to end up with a tape strip-sized hole in the wallpaper.

There are rails, like in the gallery. You can change the pictures as you wish. The rails are installed directly under the ceiling and remain there.

At some point, it's time for the first hole in the wall 😀
Small (nail) holes can easily be covered with paint. If needed, apply a bit of filler beforehand.

The first nail holes and anchors in the new house already hurt,
usually hanging the next picture on the same nail helps,
alternatively a little higher, then the hole is immediately less visible.

That’s what a favorite person is for—the one who holds up the pictures on the wall until their shoulders ache…

Here comes the next problem – I have leftover paint (the wall is not white) in a bucket up in the attic. What’s the best way to store it? Is it true that it should be kept away from light?
The wall isn’t protected from light either, so if I repaint in a year, might there be a visible color difference?

I’ve already made my first mistakes. I hung some long pictures quite high, but then I didn’t like them there. Now I want to hang square pictures instead. Hanging them on the same nail makes them too high. And if I hang them lower, I end up with 6 nail holes above the new pictures. 🤨

I thought about that too at first, but then I’d have to change the kid’s diaper myself. :P
