Hello,

we will soon start building our house using aerated concrete for both the interior and exterior walls.

My electrician usually works with prefabricated houses (but he is a friend and does not charge me), and I mentioned that I have come across so-called “grooving scrapers for aerated concrete, slot chisels for conduits, aerated concrete” on eBay and other marketplaces, but I haven’t found any reviews or experiences.

Would such a scraper actually be sufficient to cut slots in the wall for empty conduits, electrical cables, etc., in aerated concrete? That would be very convenient compared to using a wall chaser or chiseling manually.

Does anyone have tips or experience with this?

"Is it "enough" to somehow get the groove into the wall? Whether he will still be your friend afterward? :P I think using this tool is quite a hassle and takes a very long time.

You can probably rent a wall groove cutter (I found several offers online right away). That probably makes more sense and is more enjoyable..."

So far, everything I’ve read about wall chase cutters is that they are the least of several evils, but still an evil. People complain everywhere that these tools are ultimately heavy, awkward, and so on. Since aerated concrete is relatively soft, I thought this was like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but I can’t find any experience reports about these groove scarifiers either.
