Hello everyone,
we have completed the driveway using recycled concrete (RC) material 0/45 (compacted). Now we want to cover it with gravel, since we won’t be able to do the paving this year and want to avoid bringing too much dirt into the house during the wet season (the fine fraction of the RC material always sticks to shoes, etc.). What type of gravel (grain size) do you recommend for this?
Later, an “eco-paving” (K4 Kronimus) will be installed. Therefore, it would be ideal if the gravel also suits this type of paving (permeable, although we will also use an additional drainage channel).
Alternatively, we would like to use the gravel as a base layer under the terrace. We need about 10 m³ (13 yd³) to create a layer approximately 15 cm (6 inches) thick.

No matter what type of gravel you use, it will mix with the road base (RC) at the surface whenever you drive over it, steer, shovel snow, etc.
If you only walk on it, even with groceries or furniture, it might work.
Otherwise, in spring you should set edges, add new gravel or crushed stone, level it, and pave.
