JimboL1mbo18 Apr 2022 17:32Hello,
as we started to work on landscaping our garden, I noticed that along the fence (chain link/welded wire mesh) next to the neighbors, grass grows tall right at ground level and can’t be mowed away. Overall, it doesn’t look very neat. The lawn mower always leaves a few centimeters (inches) of grass strip next to the fence. Even a trimmer doesn’t manage to cut all the blades of grass.
How have you dealt with this? Or do you just let the grass/weeds grow there? Some garden owners put edging stones or paving stones directly along the fence line. But that can only be done right on the property boundary at the fence. Unfortunately, our garden is quite uneven (see photo), so we wouldn’t be able to install edging stones; it would probably look very unorganized with the uneven lawn surface.

I can recommend this thread.

When it comes to garden design, you don’t have such a strip. If you are the kind of person who (also) just wants a neat lawn, possibly with precise “edging stones,” which may not be possible for you, then I recommend an edge trimmer or something similar.
