Hello everyone,
I hope someone here can help me. We are planning to build a house and received an offer from the builder to include the garage foundation slab. However, he would charge nearly €8,500 for it. The foundation slab would be 6 x 6 meters (20 x 20 feet).

Is the price a bit high? He would also install the electrical wiring for it. I did a quick calculation:

Planning, construction management €1,300
Structural calculation €550
Foundation slab €850
Preparation work €2,500
Electrical installation €350

What is your opinion?

Hey,

I’m in the same situation and have solved it as follows: The architect who designed our house also planned the garage (saved money), I combined the structural calculations for the garage with those of the house (saved money), and the electrician for the house is also handling the garage. The standard concrete slab for the garage, measuring 3m by 6m (10ft by 20ft), costs just under 1300 euros, and the same company is already working on the house’s foundation slab. Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about the earthworks yet.

Nowadays, there are prefabricated garage companies where you can get a single garage including the concrete slab for that price.

Good luck

Yes, I have also considered possibly using a prefabricated garage.
