Hello,

is it safe to place the Fritzbox Repeater 6000 in a child's bedroom without concerns?

Or is this questionable in terms of radiation?

On this floor, the child's bedroom is the only room with a LAN cable, so it can only be set up there.

Is the child’s age important when assessing this?

According to Fritz, the radiation is so low that no harmful health effects are expected, but what do you think?

I wouldn’t do it – why? No idea, I don’t have any expertise, and I didn’t want one in my bedroom either... quite simple!

Well, that’s how it is. That’s one way to dismiss everything. Quite simple. 🙄 Do you also have a permit for the 50Hz power supply? You have a lot of antennas built into the walls. No idea, it’s just a feeling, I don’t have any expertise.

Well, we have that in common.
Did you really have antennas built into the walls?

But the wiring craze, where at least one double socket is installed in every room and in the living room right behind the TV there are even 2 double sockets... nobody needs that. Yes.

You may not need it, but I would never do it any other way! I would even add network outlets for access points on the ceiling. We are all just that different.

I actually installed one in my home. Result: my mom immediately plugged in her radio alarm clock, which made the disconnection pretty pointless at first. So, the radio alarm clock got its own outlet, which was branched off from the neighboring room, restoring a network-free zone within about 1 meter (3 feet) around the bed. However, I didn’t do that in the new build.

I wouldn’t want to miss any of my LAN outlets. If I want a repeater somewhere, I just plug it in—of course with PoE. Unfortunately, I only have two ports behind the TV, so there’s a small desktop switch there as well.

Instead of worrying about radiation, I often find it more important whether something blinks or makes noise. I believe repeaters usually blink less. However, I wouldn’t want the main router in the bedroom. Regarding noise, I’ve noticed that people perceive it very differently. I once had a power supply unit that probably had some coil whine or something similar, but my husband didn’t hear it at all, while it drove me crazy until I found and unplugged the culprit. Children usually hear such noises even more, as they simply perceive a wider frequency range. I would at least keep that in mind and try to have as little electrical equipment near the head as possible just for that reason. This has nothing to do with "radiation" in this case.

Power the devices via PoE and easily turn off the lights. I don’t hear my access points, and they don’t have any indicator lights on.
