Hello everyone, are the cutouts for the flush-mounted electrical boxes in prefabricated basements made directly at the precast concrete plant, or are they drilled later on the construction site?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

For our exterior walls, an installation level was simply created within the insulation. However, part of the basement is a living basement. The rest of the basement has surface-mounted installations.

Is the insulation on the inside, or how should I picture that? In general, concrete walls are not very suitable for typical chasing work, but there are flush-mounted boxes that can be cast in at the factory. However, this requires that all boxes and conduit routes are planned in advance.

What was specified in the general contractor’s scope of work description or in the trade’s offer?

Usually, the aim is to avoid drilling into the exterior walls. Surface-mounted boxes are used instead, or flush-mounted boxes are relocated into interior walls. If absolutely necessary, a TomTom solution can be applied.

Yes, on the inside—you naturally lose interior space.

These are 8cm (3 inches) boards with aluminum foil, but don’t ask me for the name anymore. On top of that, battens, OSB, and drywall.

Construction site: Insulation boards on walls with green tape; tool area on the left.
