Hello!

Our building specifications include a one-time exterior paint coating, and now we are being asked whether the painter should apply a second coat.

Does anyone have information on this?

Thanks! 🙂

That depends on the plaster system. For example, in our case: Ytong blocks, followed by Weber lightweight cement plaster in grey with a mesh reinforcement, then Weber colored finishing plaster in RAL 9016, and finally Weber silicone paint in RAL 9016. One coat was enough, with complete coverage. Karsten

We had base plaster, mesh filler, and finishing plaster, as far as I could tell.
In its unpainted state, it already looks, to me, as if it had been painted white—the finishing plaster is very light in color. 🙂

Why use two coats then? He wants your best, your money. Karsten

Thanks for the input! We'll stick to a single coat of paint 🙂
