I wanted to ask everyone which switch systems you have chosen and what your reasoning was behind those decisions.

Gira Standard 55 in pure white gloss for basement and garage, E2 anthracite for ground floor, E2 pure white gloss for upper floor.

For many, the choice is probably based on aesthetics, while for some it also depends on the electrician’s preference (or what they want to sell).
In any case, I recommend considering in advance which (wireless) dimmers, roller shutter switches, thermostats, etc., you will need, and then checking if there is a compatible solution within the product range. Sockets, standard switches, push buttons, etc., are usually not a problem.
Especially with LED dimmers, this used to be more difficult a few years ago.
I can’t say whether there is a big difference in price.
For the meter cabinet, definitely choose Hager and at least 3 compartments, meaning 105cm (41 inches) wide. Residual current devices (RCDs) and circuit breakers as well...

Why "definitely Hager"? I only have a small consumer unit on the first floor from them, but down in the basement there is a three-row one from ABB-Stotz and, of course, the circuit breakers from them as well... I can't say anything negative about it.

We have the B+J Standard white. Not exciting, but acceptable.

ABB probably works just as well, of course. Hager is simply the electricians’ favorite, the Mercedes of brands, at least for most people here in the area...
