Hello dear community,

We have spent a long time researching and gathering information here, and would now like to share our electrical offer, which seems a bit high to us after reviewing other quotes in this forum. In particular, the electrician is unwilling to offer any discounts or allowances. On the contrary, we were arrogantly told that these are the best prices calculated for us and that we won’t find cheaper offers elsewhere...

To cut a long story short, €90 (about $98) net per electrical outlet is steep.

The construction method is clay block, where the outlet locations are already planned during the wall construction. No chasing or cutting channels will take place, so careful planning is essential.

The builder himself has only had good experiences with this electrician. As a precaution, we requested another quote and are currently waiting.

Construction will take place in the beautiful town of Oranienburg near Berlin.

Preisangebot-Tabelle: Positionen mit Mengen, Bezeichnungen und Preisen (Flur EG, Hauswirtschaftsraum)

Angebot: tabellarische Liste mit Stromkreis, Zählerplatz und Überspannungsschutz.

Rechnung Seite 3: Zimmer-Positionen mit Jalousieschalter, Steckdose und Datendose.

Detaillierte Angebotsrechnung mit Zimmeraufteilung: Jalousieschalter, Steckdosen, Möbelteile.

Preisangebot mit Positionen (Badezimmer, Außenbereich, Garten) und Gesamtsumme.

Preisübersicht eines Wohnungsangebots mit Raumnamen und Nettosumme.

Is it even possible to say in general that an offer is overpriced, or do electricians all charge similar amounts because some services are priced separately, etc.?

Best regards

I checked again, the switches are from Busch-Jaeger Reflex SI.

I don’t think they are anything special...

Guest bathroom without an electrical outlet?

Regarding the network:
Does Children’s Room 1 not get a network socket?
I’m missing network connections for the access points.
How large is the media distribution cabinet? What components are included? Unfortunately, these cabinets are often undersized. I prefer a network rack that you buy and install yourself. The electrician only terminates the network cables onto a patch panel or, preferably, directly onto keystone modules.
If both network cable ends are terminated, is there also a test report?

What is this – the list you’re drawing up already includes the basic equipment? Or is this supposed to be a complete electrical plan – then it doesn’t fit at all...

Too expensive, yes. But Busch-Jaeger is really good... if that counts as "nothing special," then I don't know what to expect from a switch system. Gold-plated? Platinum-plated?

Oh, it’s clear you really don’t know much about this. BJ is actually quite good—I used it in my own home. And it’s not cheap, even if you can get it at the local hardware store. But aside from that, I share the same opinion as everyone else here: the offer is absolutely rubbish.

From a quality standpoint, it doesn’t matter whether you choose Berker, Jung, Gira, BJ, or Merten. There is absolutely no difference. I would avoid store-brand products, but the rest really comes down to aesthetics and whether specific modules within the range match your requirements or fit, for example, built-in devices from third-party manufacturers (KNX switches, sensors, or similar).
