Hello dear community,
We have spent a long time researching and gathering information here, and would now like to share our electrical offer, which seems a bit high to us after reviewing other quotes in this forum. In particular, the electrician is unwilling to offer any discounts or allowances. On the contrary, we were arrogantly told that these are the best prices calculated for us and that we won’t find cheaper offers elsewhere...
To cut a long story short, €90 (about $98) net per electrical outlet is steep.
The construction method is clay block, where the outlet locations are already planned during the wall construction. No chasing or cutting channels will take place, so careful planning is essential.
The builder himself has only had good experiences with this electrician. As a precaution, we requested another quote and are currently waiting.
Construction will take place in the beautiful town of Oranienburg near Berlin.

Is it even possible to say in general that an offer is overpriced, or do electricians all charge similar amounts because some services are priced separately, etc.?
Best regards

There’s nothing specified there? (Manufacturer, model designation)
A shutter switch can be made "smart" in a thousand and one ways. Not all options would meet my approval.
Is there also a "transparent" offering?
Are the "data outlets 2x RJ45" each connected twice, and does the corresponding material (cables, outlet, patch panel) come with it?

That is precisely one of the problems with the place. Only "standard" materials are being used, basically whatever is currently available, according to their statement. They don’t want to commit to any specific brand. We plan to handle the smart home setup ourselves afterwards using Shellys...

- Too expensive if it only covers materials and no chasing work, etc.
- No information on the installed quality (fancy glass switches or basic hardware store items?)
- No further details (double sockets or just single, etc.)
The quote isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on in terms of quality. Is there an electrical plan? I’m asking because there are serious issues in the content as well (for example, a single socket in the children’s room? Where are you supposed to plug in the computer/laptop/monitor, the TV, the game console, the two floor lamps, and so on? Also, only three (3!!!) sockets in the bedroom. After both partners have plugged in their phones at night, they argue about whether the nightstand lamp for reading, the cozy floor lamp, or the TV can be turned on – this can be solved with a tangle of power strips, but that’s not how it should be in a new build).

I find this quite bold. Type 2 surge protection for "Internet" – 360 euros... Then 5 additional surge protectors... Then a "meter slot" for e-mobility?! Excuse me?! And a "media distribution panel" for 1,600 euros?!
This really sounds like blatant profiteering – sorry. Find someone else!
