Hello everyone,

I believe most of you with two full stories have a cold roof, meaning the insulation is placed directly on the concrete ceiling. Have you installed a ventilation grille in the area of the wall plate/eaves?

You mean to allow air to enter the attic? So, around the entire facade above the concrete ceiling and the insulation on top of the ceiling?

I haven’t built yet, but I’m still interested in the answer (we also want to build a two-story house with a cold roof). 😉

Yes, we have grids exactly there, and the wind whistles strongly through the roof. Very practical, as I can dry my laundry really well here 🙂 Best regards, Steffi33

I have been looking into this since yesterday and I’m still not quite sure about it. From what I can understand, ventilation at the junction with the masonry is not necessary if a vapor barrier has been installed. But I’m not certain if that is correct.
