Hello everyone,
Our future house has a cold roof. Since only certain items should be stored there, we want to get special storage boxes that provide protection against external temperature fluctuations as well as moisture. Regular plastic boxes that we already have are not very suitable for this purpose. Can you recommend any specific boxes that you use yourselves?

If cold roofs are insulated without proper consideration, it often leads to problems such as mold.
There will be airtight boxes. However, insulating the box only slows down temperature fluctuations. If it remains cold for a long time in winter, the box will eventually get cold as well.
A cold roof is simply not suitable for sensitive items.

I can’t find the thread right now, but @Nordlys insulated their attic afterwards, prefers building autonomously, and can probably share where an even more minimal solution is just nonsense.

For insulating cold roofs. I didn’t do this without careful consideration but worked together with a master carpenter from my family. It is completely unproblematic if you insulate thoroughly—meaning you don’t miss any corners—and seal everything properly with a vapor retarder. Now we have a dry and consistently slightly temperate roof space where everything can be stored safely. Previously, when it was still a cold roof, mattresses or cushions up there were always damp in winter, and paint would freeze.
Hello @Nordlys, thank you for your feedback. That sounds like a reasonable plan. I will discuss this with our carpenter who installed our roof. Currently, an additional 24 cm (9.5 inches) thick mineral wool insulation with a thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/(m·K) is being installed between the lower chords of the timber trusses. From Town & Country’s perspective, this wouldn’t have been necessary, but it seemed sensible to us. Our construction supervisor also confirmed that this was a reasonable decision. Town & Country tried to convince us that cold roofs are quite common and that you can store many things there, just not sensitive items such as electronics.
