I have a few ideas about expanding the basement/garage. Since building only a basement is possible due to space constraints, my questions are:
1. Building a basement requires a building permit/planning permission – I assume this is correct.
2. Does it even make sense to build a basement afterward?
3. Is it technically feasible?
4. What about the costs (approximately)? I have no idea how to estimate this. The size is about 100 sqm (1,076 sq ft). I have attached a photo for reference. Green: property boundary; blue: the current parking area to be converted into a basement (this is the mentioned 100 sqm (1,076 sq ft)); orange: it would be ideal to include the orange area in the basement as well, which would create a nice large basement by combining the blue and orange areas. I would like additional parking spaces for the cars, but calling it an underground garage seems exaggerated.

3. Is it technically feasible? If you are going to demolish the existing structures anyway and build new ones on top, then yes. Otherwise, you cannot simply add a basement under the existing building.
You can generally say, "Tearing everything down and rebuilding will be cheaper than adding a basement afterward." You can forget that idea right away.
Underpinning the house and garage will cost around 50,000-100,000 euros.
Sheet piling or retaining walls at the property boundary will add another 50,000-100,000 euros.
Earthworks and, if needed, water management will be 20,000-30,000 euros.
The basement, with all necessary components, will cost about 140,000-200,000 euros.
Restoring surfaces and paving will be approximately 15,000-20,000 euros.
That adds up to a total of 300,000-450,000 euros.

My advice: Forget it!
