Hello everyone, since I’m new here, first of all, compliments on this forum. I hope I’m in the right section. My issue: our house, built in the 1970s, has an uncovered balcony. I have noticed small bubbles forming in the plaster or paint on the underside. Is this normal after several years and just needs repainting, or could it indicate a bigger problem? I’m hoping to find some experts here who can offer advice. Thank you very much and best regards, alsteff

It depends on the materials used at the time of construction; however, my initial gut feeling would be "yes," it is normal.
Get an expert in masonry to inspect the balcony. Only then will you receive reliable information about whether and how to address the efflorescence issue 😉
Kind regards
