Hello!

I hope someone here can help me...
The insulation in my roof is now fully installed everywhere.
Now the vapor barrier and battens need to be added.
At the gable, the battens would extend about 30cm (12 inches) beyond the exterior,
so my question is: Should I anchor a batten directly to the gable wall
to secure the overhanging battens there?
And if yes, what’s the best way to do this? Should I stick the vapor barrier to the wall first
or install the batten first and then attach the vapor barrier over it?
Furthermore, I’m unsure whether to first install longitudinal battens along the rafters,
and then the cross battens (counter battens),
or if it’s better to just install the cross battens and then fix the drywall.

All the materials are from Knauf Insulation.
I’m using the ETA Plus vapor barrier, LDS Solimur adhesive cartridges,
and the sealing tapes.

The battens I have are 30x50mm (1.2x2 inches).

I hope someone has an idea.
I’ve also attached a picture.
Best regards, Basti

First install the cross battens, then fill the gaps of the new framework with insulation matching the batten thickness (this reduces the thermal bridge caused by the rafters), followed by the vapor barrier. At the gable, leave an overhang of about 1.5 to 2cm (0.6 to 0.8 inches), which should be sealed afterward. Trim any excess edges after fitting the drywall sheets.
