ᐅ Do multiple outlets count as one?

Socket Planning: I was just doing some research online and came across occasional statements like "power strips count as one outlet." That probably can't be generalized, but can anyone provide more detailed information on this? Thanks a lot for your tips. Best regards, Steffi33

Usually, only one supply cable is run to the junction boxes, which is then distributed to the boxes. Therefore, you can’t connect 10 boxes and run a battery-powered toaster from them 😉.

I hadn’t considered 10 boxes... But double or triple boxes are common practice, right? So how are they counted?

I don’t understand the question – regarding the installation, I have already given you an answer, but when it comes to the price, of course you have to pay for these additional sockets as well. Some providers multiply the price by two or three times or more depending on the number of sockets, while others only charge a small extra fee.

But basically, you just need to buy an additional socket plus the frame/cover plate.

Well... then I'll explain my question... Our builder sets a standard for the equipment... for example, 8 power outlets in the kitchen. Am I allowed to install 8 double power outlets instead? And please don’t answer telling me to just call him... I will be doing that plenty of times anyway... There must be some general rules for this kind of thing, I suppose. Best regards, Steffi33

You will have to call him – but basically, I have already given you the answer: YOU will get 8 single, 4 double, 2 quadruple, or you can mix them differently – but in total, you will only receive 8 sockets.

Unless he is different – so in the end, you will have to call him anyway 😉.

We have 15 amps plus three-phase power for the cooktop – 8 of those are visible (for everyday use) – the rest are for the electrical wiring inside the cabinets.
