ᐅ Three years since completion – still haven’t found a ceiling light for the kitchen!

We’re probably a bit crazy. We can’t find a ceiling light that both of us like for the kitchen. But all the options out there are just terrible. We definitely don’t want those damn LEDs. So that rules out 50% of the lights right away.
Then we need a lot of light, at least 3000 lumens. We both have poor eyesight. That cuts out another 30% because these days lights don’t seem to be meant for actual illumination anymore.
That leaves only 20% that we simply don’t like or that are too expensive (over 500€). It’s so frustrating. Does anyone know a lighting store that doesn’t just sell the usual generic stuff but offers something different?
Feel free to share pictures of the lights you have, if you want. Maybe we’ll like some of those too. 🙁

Successful? Well, over the weekend it backed off and growled "not now."

toxicmolotof31 Jul 2017 18:17We visited the lighting section of a very large furniture store again over the weekend. And what can I say... still nothing. So it's back to the construction lamp over the dining table.
