HilfeHilfe22 Feb 2015 20:14Hello,
My wife has noticed a strong, unpleasant smell in the bathroom for about a week. We ventilate almost every day.
Today I noticed it too. Suddenly, there was a very bad odor. I was able to trace it, and it was coming very strongly from the shower drain. Our bathroom is tiled at floor level. No one has showered for a week, but someone has taken a bath once this week.
The bathtub is on the same side as the shower. I poured drain cleaner into the drain just now. The smell seems to have gone away.
Have we done something wrong in general? Can such a smell occur?
After the bath, foam and so on were rinsed off again. The building was completed in mid-2014.
Thank you

We experience a similar odor in the attic when the trap of the sink or shower dries out. I've made it a habit to run water twice a week. That solves the problem. Give it a try. The trap must not dry out.

No showering has taken place for a week. Maybe this is the reason for the strong, unpleasant odor.
