Hello everyone,

We made an opening in a double-wythe brick wall to install a door.
To repair and plaster the reveal, which type of plaster should I use?
Standard plaster or base plaster?
The wall is at ground level and not protected from rain. Layer thicknesses are 1-10cm (0.4-4 inches).

No help? Then I will have to get advice from the professionals at the DIY store.

Maybe this is the wrong forum. But of course, you could also upload some pictures to help visualize the situation.
A hardware store is definitely not a good idea. If anything, go to a building materials supplier.

Home construction forum?
Of course, the edge will still be finished.

The layer thicknesses are generally between 5-40mm (0.2-1.6 inches).
I have planned reinforcement in the reveal.
As a product, I was considering
Sakret renovation and plaster mortar. Actually, it is already much too fine (1mm / 0.04 inches).

House building forum?

That’s what it’s called, yes. But in my experience, it’s more of a forum about having houses built by others.

Is the door already installed? Essentially, the plasterer just fits reveal beads and applies the plaster. I don’t see why it should be done differently here. At the bottom, the floor should simply be sealed properly...
