Bullerbü202027 Jan 2023 10:40Hello everyone,
As with the rest of the house construction, the planning of our utility room now seems almost impossible. Maybe you have some good ideas. We have already had two carpenters here who both came up with very different concepts. Details of what we need in the utility room:
- Plenty of space for laundry (Here the question: Drawers where you can place baskets inside the cabinet seem suitable to me – or is that too unstable?)
- Plenty of space for shoes and jackets (Important here: Not complicated to hang on hangers, but as easy as possible for lazy people)
- Ideally with a small bench for children and a family member with circulation problems ;-)
- Space for a side-by-side refrigerator
- Floor-to-ceiling cabinet to slide in the dust mop
We are a family of five, with three small children.
Perhaps someone has a good tip for useful websites with great ideas or maybe even a custom solution ready.
Thank you very much in advance

Unfortunately, I am a complete beginner in all areas of house construction, but I have been trying for a long time to educate myself by reading here.Bullerbü2020 schrieb:

Bullerbü202027 Jan 2023 20:20Hello Sol! Yes, the first plan shows the floor layout. The second plan is the "design" from the carpenter. The heating circuit distributor was installed where it says “connection.” The electrical panel is next to the window. The washing machine and dryer connections are located beside the sink. The heat pump and other equipment are housed in a separate utility room. The left door leads to the garage, the right one to the hallway.
I understand that individual advice is difficult since I’m from Villabajo. What would help you more, a floor plan or a photo? Is there a forum for laundry room setup? Or maybe an ultimate recommendation for good systems from an experienced homemaker? Best regards

Ideally also with a small bench for children and for a mom with circulation problems ;-) Don’t you have a hallway? That should serve this purpose better than a utility room!

Maybe someone has a good tip for websites with great ideas Well, you are here in a house building forum that thrives on floor plan discussions and provides good tips and optimizations.
My advice is to have your floor plan discussed in the appropriate section with a completed questionnaire. This might solve some issues, for example by placing the doors correctly, giving the room the necessary dimensions, and considering the rest. A house and living there can rarely be reduced to just one room.
