FrankChief18 Oct 2022 14:55Hello,
we are currently building a new house and need to specify the heights of the bathroom fixtures.
Toilet: 41cm (16 inches) from the top edge of the ceramic (without the seat) to the finished floor level (recommended by Geberit)
Washbasin: 90cm (35 inches) from the top edge of the basin to the finished floor level (recommended by Laufen)
Shower valve mixer: 110cm (43 inches); this results in a showerhead height of 210cm (83 inches)
Bathtub faucet: 20cm (8 inches) above the top edge of the bathtub
I am 183cm (6 feet) tall, and my wife is approximately 175cm (5 feet 9 inches).
I hope you can share your feedback and experience regarding these fixture heights.
Thank you.

Osnabruecker18 Oct 2022 15:49Take a folding ruler and check what you have now.
Do you feel comfortable? If so, keep it that way.
"My" toilet is installed slightly higher than the rest of the house (15 cm (6 inches) higher than my wife's). You notice the few centimeters difference, but it works fine everywhere.

junijulibaut18 Oct 2022 19:30We planned the toilet seat height at 44cm (17 inches) and the washbasin at 87cm (34 inches). (170, 182 cm)
You should test the toilet height, as a few centimeters really make a difference. For older age, higher toilets are probably better.
I think 90cm (35 inches) for the washbasin is fine for your height.
Do you have small children? That should also be taken into account.
Our site manager said about this: raising the washbasin is always possible, lowering it is more difficult because of the plumbing connections.

FrankChief18 Oct 2022 22:09I think a 90cm (35 inch) washbasin will suit us. Is going higher than 90cm (35 inches) not recommended?
No, we don’t have children yet.
But one is planned.
The biggest question mark is the toilet height—what height should we choose?

NatureSys18 Oct 2022 22:18I think we installed our toilets at a height of 43cm (17 inches), which is almost the same size as yours. The best approach is to measure the height in your current apartment or house to see whether it feels too high or too low for you.

But one is planned. So far, children have managed fine in any typical household with a step stool or DIY furniture hacks.
You are both tall, so consider the height.
