Hello everyone,

we are currently planning the bathroom for our new build and are unsure about the most practical layout.
This is the master bathroom, which will be used about 95% of the time only by us parents.

These two ideas have so far "survived."
However, we are open to completely different suggestions as well.

The window can still be moved flexibly along the left wall, including its size.
The door position is fixed and has a width of 86 cm (34 inches). In one of the images, the door measurement is unfortunately incorrect.
The toilet should ideally not be in direct sight when entering.

I look forward to your thoughts.
Thanks in advance :-)

Is this a ribbon window with a parapet of ...?

Basically, if a bathtub collides with a window, I would suggest integrating the two. Otherwise, it looks random and not well thought out.
Where is the drainage shaft?

Thank you for your reply.

The window is wide but low, exactly. It is installed quite high up to prevent people from looking in while still allowing enough light to enter. This way, it does not interfere with the bathtub.
The reason it is not positioned exactly above the bathtub is to avoid having to lean into or stand on the tub to open or close the window, making it easier to reach the window handle. However, it is true that a centered position looks more elegant.

The pipes will be installed where they are needed.
This is a new build, so nothing has been finalized yet.

Best regards

The reason it’s not exactly aligned is so that you don’t have to reach into or stand on the bathtub to open or close it, and you can comfortably reach the window handle. But of course, centered looks more elegant.

They will be somewhere on the ground floor, but should be placed where boxed-in pipes don’t cause inconvenience (assuming this concerns the upper floor). The location is already important at the design stage, as it is not arbitrary. Accordingly, the wastewater pipe to the toilet should also be planned as short as possible.

Since the house will be built with a timber frame construction, the pipes will be routed through the floor and walls, and will also run invisibly through the walls on the ground floor. Directly below is the guest bathroom.

At least, this was the statement from the consultant of the house building company. The arrangement of the sanitary fixtures would be possible anywhere.
