ᐅ Which garden fence provides privacy screening?

Hello

We have purchased a semi-detached house.

After completion, we want to install a fence around our garden (we hope to have friendly neighbors who will share the costs).

We need about 55m (180 feet) of fencing.

We want the entire fence to have privacy screening and be between 1.6 and 1.8m (5.2 and 5.9 feet) high (this is legally allowed in our area).

Which type of fence would you recommend? We had thought about the standard welded wire mesh fence panels, but the privacy strips for these are quite expensive.

Is there a more affordable option, possibly with a different type of fence?

Requirements for the fence:

No maintenance (so no wood)
Privacy screening
Height between 1.6 and 1.8m (5.2 and 5.9 feet)
Must go all the way to the ground (to prevent our dog, including puppies, from escaping)

Thank you very much for your help

L-shaped concrete blocks. Although even the Berlin Wall eventually started to crumble.

You should probably install a gravel strip underneath the WPC decking to prevent waterlogging.

I would likely use soundproofing elements at the terrace level. Since it is a semi-detached house, the neighbor’s terrace is right next to yours, correct?

The neighboring terrace is directly adjacent to ours.

At terrace level, there will be a wall made of stone. For the rest, a fence.

The development plan prohibits rock gardens. Would a gravel strip already count as one?

There is also welded wire mesh fencing with privacy screening.

WPC (wood-plastic composite).

What do you think about concrete fences, for example as shown in the picture? What should be considered when installing a concrete fence?

I hold about the same opinion of concrete-look surfaces as I do of welded wire mesh fences with plastic.

For me, a gravel strip under a fence is not a gravel wasteland garden. How exactly is the ban defined? I’m curious. There are ecologically valuable gardens with a lot of stone, for example, prairie gardens are mulched with gravel.

Take a look at Siberian larch. You never have to treat it again. It naturally turns gray—that’s it.

Siberian larch is currently very difficult to obtain or not available at all. My brother-in-law was told by more than one manufacturer that it will only be available next year.
