Hello everyone,

I recently watched a YouTube video from Smartest Home about the new funding program for smart home integration in new constructions (also existing buildings). Has anyone dealt with this before? I find the topic of funding somewhat difficult to understand. Apparently, you can claim up to €50,000. I would like to have a KNX system installed in my single-family house, which is not built yet, but so far I haven't allocated much budget for KNX. How can I solve this problem?

Best regards,
Stefan

Hello everyone,

I just received the notification.
Regarding KNX, the following were rejected:
- Blinds/shutter actuator
- Weather station
- IP interface
- Programming
- Visualization

Is it worth filing an appeal?
Only the room controllers and continuous controllers were approved.

That is really unfortunate. We received our notification today and will have the full amount transferred within the next two weeks.
Did you have to upload invoices or anything similar?

We uploaded everything, and I’m surprised that the room controllers and such were approved, but the underlying technology was not. I wonder if someone inexperienced handled this.

The energy consultant advises against filing an appeal. He says there’s a risk that the amount could be reduced even further, which I personally don’t think is justifiable based on the facts.

What do you think? Appeal? After all, it’s about roughly 10,000€ (about 11,000 USD), meaning 3,500€ (about 3,850 USD).

See the attachment. Everything up to item 10.11.1 was approved, items from 10.12 onward were rejected.

Scope of work with table stand, Busch control touch, and plastic conduit.

Installation checklist: KNX IP interface, circuit breaker, shading, visualization.

Installation and maintenance plan including items like valve actuator, heat pump, and KNX distributor.

Scope of work: list of heating and installation details with quantities.

Scope of work heating and shading: items 10.01–10.04.

A similar case was experienced by @lin0r87. After an appeal, they received full funding. Maybe they can share their experience here, or you could contact them.

But one question, even though it doesn’t change anything now. Why did you have to or decide to upload invoices? You’re only supposed to upload the spreadsheet with the amounts, invoice numbers, etc., along with the certificates from the plumber and, in our case, for the drilling.

The BAFA never requested to see the details of the electrician’s invoice from us. I asked him to group the relevant KNX components into one item, which he did under the category “renewable energy.” I entered that value, invoice number, date, item description, and payment date—that was it.

You’re prompted by a list of what needs to be uploaded. I never had to upload a single invoice. Was it different for you?
