ᐅ Smart home control (solar panels, heat pump, etc.) via smartwatch?

Hello everyone,

is anyone already using any available or self-developed apps or mini web portals on a smartwatch for monitoring and partially controlling, for example, photovoltaic inverters/batteries and heat pumps? I’m not referring to lighting controls.

What are your experiences with this? Does anyone have a DIY project in this area?

I am planning to start this at least soon.

What exactly do you want to control on a photovoltaic system or heat pump? And especially, why use a clock instead of a smartphone for that?

No, seriously, my watch (Samsung Watch 3) with the appropriate watch face even shows me the 2-hourly weather forecast and when I tap it, the forecast for the upcoming days. Since I’m already there, a few simple pieces of information from the inverter and the heat pump would be enough for me (energy flows, compressor frequency, etc.).
Controlling them would be more like the icing on the cake. In that case, simple triggers for predefined programs would suffice, as a supplement or alternative to automatic control via Modbus.

With a smart home, you shouldn’t have to intervene manually. You’re actually referring more to remote control. I can access the photovoltaic system via an app or directly through KNX. Where I display it then doesn’t matter…

Since I don’t currently trust any available automation system to optimize the use of a battery with cascade switching and a heat pump (where from the battery’s perspective everything is combined), I still enjoy managing the currents myself. In 1-2 years, I plan to have this fully automated, and the experience and data from this current phase will help me.

So, are there already displays for smartwatches or simple, very compact web pages that I could quickly access via URL in a self-made web app (which is faster to create than a full app)?

Right now, I use my smartphone or laptop (when it’s already on). But the important information is nowhere to be seen at a glance. I want to start fixing that now.
