Hello,
We have a single-family house with a Berlin wave tile roof. The roof is now about 30 years old and urgently needs to be replaced, as the structure is no longer sufficient.
Unfortunately, due to weight restrictions, traditional roof tiles cannot be installed. The maximum weight allowed is around 15kg/m² (3.1 lbs/ft²).
Of course, there are alternatives to roof tiles, but I am not familiar with them. Does anyone have experience with any kind of lightweight roofing? It is especially important to me that the roof is not too noisy inside the house during rain, which might be an issue with metal roofs.
I look forward to your suggestions.
Best regards
Edit: As an example, we found something from Prefa that fits the weight requirement. However, I would appreciate it if someone has experience with these or other manufacturers.

rennschnecke18 Jan 2021 11:38The first quote for a standard metal roof (without insulation) is available.
160 m² (1,722 ft²) bungalow with approximately 230 m² (2,476 ft²) roof area. Costs (materials + installation – without insulation) are around 26,000 euros.
With a 40 m² (430 ft²) garage roof, the total will likely be between 32,000 and 35,000 euros, I estimate. The quote I have for now only covers the house roof.
Are these typical prices nowadays for a new roof, or are there special features involved? It seems a bit high to me.

What exactly is included?
Removing the Berlin wave profile, dismantling the battens, disposal, supplying a new metal roof (which product?), installing new battens, installing the metal roof. Over 113 euros per m² (10.5 per ft²) for a metal roof. Of course, if you want prefab or something similar, the metal alone costs at least 35 euros. But 80 euros per m² (7.4 per ft²) for installation seems excessive to me.

What do you mean by a metal roof if you are not referring to a corrugated metal roof? For example, profiled sheets with standing seams.Google: "New roof – with lightweight metal roof tiles"
