Hello everyone,
We are planning a garage with a large open space for our new single-family house. We are limited by a boundary build and our plot becomes slightly wider towards the back. The garage dimensions would be approximately 6.43 – 6.58 x 6 meters (21.1 – 21.6 x 19.7 feet).
The first quote we received is 32,000 euros, including the foundation slab, flat roof, side entrance door, door to the garden, and an electric sectional door. Is this price realistic, or does anyone have tips for a more affordable alternative?
Thank you very much and best regards

I have both, lightweight concrete blocks and steel, both not for the first time and both without a closed floor. Files and even furniture have been stored in the stone garage for years without any issues, as well as electronics. The car (metal body) only goes into the steel garage because it handles it best. Another car (with a fabric roof) was also stored without any problems in a metal garage.

Would you say the steel garage is only suitable as a parking space for a car, but not as a storage area for tools, bicycles, etc.?
Or to what extent do the items stored need to "tolerate" the steel garage?
...that sounds like it might actually be quite uncomfortable in there?
Tools and bicycles tolerate the steel garage just like cars do. The climate inside is regulated by the items stored there. Books (which are not problematic in the Bimsgarage) do not fare well, and the cradle will be swollen until the next child if stored there. A dresser that is going to be used as a workbench can go there – one that is meant to return to the living space is better kept out. Also, a fleece lining on the ceiling does not regulate the climate; it only significantly reduces condensation issues.
