Hello dear members,
So, we have decided that we want to have a house built for ourselves.
I am not very experienced in this area, so I want to use this thread from start to finish to make the whole process a bit easier for myself.
For now, we know how the house should be designed, meaning I have sketched something out for us. The dimensions are based on the size of our bedroom, and I have taken into account our needs for both now and the future. We do not yet own the plot of land.
Therefore, I am looking for companies that build prefabricated houses at the stage of turnkey completion.
So far, I have only looked at Massa Haus and Okal Haus. Both belong to one construction company; the difference is that with Massa Haus, I would have to do the tiling, bathroom, toilet, floors, and painting of the walls myself. I’m not really happy with that. And having only one company is not enough.
On Sunday, we are going to Poing. I hope to find several prefab house providers there.
My appointment with Okal Haus is only on Wednesday.
Does anyone have experience with Okal Haus?
At the moment, I am also occupied with questions about heating — what type, which system, etc.
It should be a finger house with low energy consumption and, therefore, low energy costs. Naturally, the construction method and the energy consumption should be balanced. I don’t want to spend $100,000 on heating and an exponential amount on construction; that doesn’t make sense to me.
I am personally considering photovoltaic systems with direct feed-in to the grid, combined with a ground-source heat pump.
I would be happy to receive your comments and replies.
I’m sure it will all help me.
Best regards

I’d love to have your crystal balls.
(Apart from the fact that it’s simply presumptuous to assume someone has no money just because they apparently haven’t dealt with the subject. And no, Okal Haus is not a cheap provider. If you want to act so clever, you should know that.) Have you ever heard that there is a questionnaire that should be filled out? That’s exactly where the budget is asked to clarify such things...
What was the original question again? Whether we can name prefab providers?
The answer to that is: go to Poing, and that’s exactly what he’s doing...
But it’s kind of like asking a kindergarten how long their opening hours are when you don’t even have a child...
Putting the cart before the horse...
But what advice are you giving him?
Are you building with Okal Haus, or why are you defending them so strongly?
People look for plots of land in the area for years, and he already wants to discuss his heating system...

What was the original question again? Was it whether we can name some prefab suppliers?
The answer to that is: go to Poing and he is doing just that...
But that’s about as useful as asking a kindergarten how long their opening hours are if you don’t have a child...
Putting the cart before the horse...
But what would you advise him to do??The advice?
Go to Poing and get to know the topic. When things get more concrete, come back and we can discuss it, because right now it doesn’t make much sense. Think about your budget, what kind of heating you want, how big everything needs to be, whether you will have a basement, look at suppliers, keep an eye on the resale market, and then you can get started.
...
But I can already see that this is less fun for some prophets and troublemakers than just throwing shade at the original poster.
Do you behave like this in real life too?
@saralina87
Some members have been here for a few years and have seen many people come and go.
And this is probably one of those cases, attracted by Massa Haus with the 220,000 Euro (about $235,000) house that actually represents a 400,000 Euro (about $427,000) house.
The reality check often comes unfortunately too late.
Forums have the advantage that people can speak openly and honestly, since it’s anonymous.
My only advice to the original poster is to take your time and don’t sign anything.

Forums have the advantage that people can say everything bluntly to each other because they are anonymous. That is the general and major problem with all social media, yes. People seem to think it’s a kindergarden- and manners-free zone just because it’s anonymous. I find that terrible. It’s possible to communicate online in a perfectly normal tone without unleashing your inner Rambo. There is (usually) a human being on the other end!
But this is really off-topic now. Sorry about that.

Thank you, Tomtom79, you summed it up perfectly....
