Dear forum members,

Our walls are currently being built, and the masons could create a core drill hole for us so that the exhaust air can be routed through it later.

Additionally, a wall vent box will need to be installed. My question is, when is the wall vent box installed (after attaching the insulation or already now?) and how is the insulation protected from condensation? With expanding foam?

Maybe some of you have already dealt with this.

Thank you very much for your input.

Can you, for example, recommend the Naber flow Star GTS 150?

With us, this is only done after plastering by core drilling.

I have also considered the Naber. However, there are many different opinions about it. I have read that a lot depends on the correct installation.

I also looked into the Naber system. However, there are many different opinions about it. I gathered that it largely depends on the correct installation.

Which trade handles this then? Do you hire someone separately for it?
But it is only installed after the exterior insulation is applied?

This is done by the masonry company. The insulation (wool) has long been installed. I know of two cases from my circle of acquaintances where the same procedure was followed two years ago. So far, I have not heard of any complaints. In one case, the chimney sweep did it. I could also ask the electrician—many tradespeople have a core drill.

In my case, the insulation will be installed quite late, long after the masons have already left. The insulation will probably be done by a different company...
That means the hole will remain open for a very long time.
