Hello,
I wanted to ask where you source your plants from?
There seem to be some affordable options available online—are they any good?
Or do you only buy trees from a nursery?

I actually placed an order with native-plants because I couldn’t find what I wanted at the garden center.
I was mainly looking for native species, but in the store there were only "Blablabla japonicum" or "Dideldü Siberia" or plants from China… no thanks. Otherwise, there was cherry laurel and boxwood. Delightful.
I’m curious to see how the plants will arrive here.

Buxus is hardly used in our area anymore. I could have imagined using it, but pest infestations around us are increasing.
In the end, I sourced almost everything from the nursery. For evergreen plants, for example, Dehner (which I find offers better quality than OBI and similar stores) was actually cheaper. From there, I have now got columnar mountain holly and a golden privet. It will be interesting to see how the latter compares to the golden privet from the nursery.
Flowering shrubs, when directly compared at similar prices, were often larger from the nursery than from the garden center.
Next spring, I’ll start with perennials, roses, and similar plants. For those, I will probably opt for the garden center due to the significantly lower prices. In that case, I don’t mind if the plants are smaller or grow more slowly.
