Hello everyone,
We have just started building our house, and the groundworks are in full progress.
We have now received a quote from the basement contractor for the garage slab foundation. I wanted to ask if the price seems reasonable.
The basement contractor, who is also building our basement for the construction company, is the same one who will later install the garage slab foundation.
According to him, the cost is 200€/m² (200€/10.8 sq ft). This seems quite high to me.
The garage is almost exactly 40m² (430 sq ft), which would mean costs of about 8,000€. What do you experts think?
One more thing: the groundworks have already been completed.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Bauexperte14 Jul 2011 16:42Hello,
Tell me where you live; at that price, I would only pour the concrete slab.
If the groundwork is already completed, the cost per square meter should be around €80-90. Anything below or above that is rip-off.
Kind regards

Hello,
Best regards
PetZschi schrieb:They probably have to do that, since as a subcontractor for the general contractor, he likely isn’t paid generously for the basement work. What he loses there, he tries to partially make up for here. Sometimes it’s purely a survival strategy.
It already seems to me that those handling the additional services are just taking money out of our pockets.
Best regards
