Hello,
I don’t believe such a system is absolutely necessary, or rather, I haven’t yet seen the significant benefits it offers. I prefer to simply open the window. What are the advantages of a ventilation and exhaust system, and what might be the drawbacks?

Keep the calculation for moisture, as it only applies during the construction phase. After that, you can ventilate however you prefer. I’ll skip the counter-calculation with zero window openings and the savings from electricity costs plus the purchase price of the ventilation system for now.

I’m skipping the counter-calculation with zero window openings and the savings in electricity and acquisition costs of the ventilation system. I don’t think that calculation is nonsense. There is some truth to it—do you really keep all your windows permanently tilted open? You’ll need to open and close them several times in the morning and evening. We are also planning to install a ventilation system because we don’t consider ourselves the type to manage ventilation “naturally.” We currently live in an apartment that was completely renovated in 2010 except for the shell. It is so airtight that we have issues with humidity and cannot keep up with ventilation.

Well, first of all, I don’t need to ventilate. The house won’t get damaged because of that. So theoretically, it’s zero.
However, it could happen that you get visitors less often.
In my opinion, the lobby of the heat recovery ventilation systems did a thorough job. Unfortunately, I can’t understand the hype around them. It remains a “nice to have,” but it works perfectly fine without. I don’t know a single homeowner who doesn’t keep the patio door open all summer long. Even in the rain, we enjoy the open doors. At night, my bedroom window is always open anyway. And in winter, I ventilate when I feel it’s necessary. But that’s far from every day—especially since we’re usually not home during the week. So, even in winter, opening the window 2-3 times a week works well for me.
Even with a ventilation system, I would still want to open windows and doors. So, the system would be pointless for me. For many, however, it’s indispensable—so to each their own.
