alter002930 Jun 2016 09:27Hello everyone,
I was able to agree with the general contractor building our house that we will handle the windows and front door ourselves. Now I am undecided between two options. A well-known local window supplier uses windows and front doors from Weru (AFINO-one). The alternative would be a window company that uses Schüco profiles, specifically the Schüco Thermo 6 (SI 82) Classic profile. The general contractor’s window supplier delivers windows with the Synego profile from Rehau. Does anyone have experience with these?

Hello,
we have windows from the company Rehau, specifically GENEO profiles with an installation depth of 86mm (3.4 inches). We are very satisfied with the Rehau windows, although we don’t have a comparison with other brands since our previous house only had inexpensive DIY-store windows.
In our opinion, the Rehau windows and front doors are high quality and also look good aesthetically (we have white windows and doors).
We chose Rehau windows last year because the local carpenter in our town manufactures them himself, and we have not regretted our decision.

nordanney30 Jun 2016 10:52Profiles hardly matter; the quality of the installation by the window fitter is much more important. You can buy the most expensive Schüco windows and still end up with poor workmanship, or you can choose inexpensive ALUPLAST or Gealan frames and get a perfect window.
I have personally had good experience with Rehau in my own house and am now getting Aluplast windows for a rented condominium. If there is no brand name on them, you won’t notice a difference—only the invoice looks very different.

A well-regarded local window supplier uses windows and front doors from weru (AFINO-one). The alternative would be a window company that uses Schüco profiles. That would be the Schüco Thermo 6 (SI 82) Classic profile. The GC’s window supplier provides windows with the Synego profile from Rehau. Does anyone have experience with these? Ultimately, it does not really matter which brand you choose – the profiles all come from three manufacturers; Rehau is one of them. The respective supplier simply installs the window.
The second supplier you mentioned was not considered by *us* over the last two years, as they did not meet our quality standards. However, it’s possible – we have not tested this – that today there is no difference. We mainly install Veka windows and have had good experiences with Veka.
Best regards, Bauexperte

alter002930 Jun 2016 19:03GENEO windows have a fiberglass core instead of a steel one. They are supposed to be excellent. I visited a window company in Willstätt today, where I received excellent advice. I am just wondering if it really works without steel and if it will still be in good condition after several years.
Hello,
we also had two offers that made it to the shortlist: Weru and Schüco. The same systems as you have. I would have preferred Weru, but in the end they were several thousand euros more expensive due to alarm system modules, wireless modules for roller shutters, aluminum roller shutters, and external venetian blinds. We chose Schüco, but we don’t have any experience with them yet since we haven’t moved in... I excluded Aluplast from the start.
