Hello everyone,
I was able to agree with the general contractor building our house that we will handle the windows and front door ourselves. Now I am undecided between two options. A well-known local window supplier uses windows and front doors from Weru (AFINO-one). The alternative would be a window company that uses Schüco profiles, specifically the Schüco Thermo 6 (SI 82) Classic profile. The general contractor’s window supplier delivers windows with the Synego profile from Rehau. Does anyone have experience with these?

In the meantime, the windowsills have been replaced, and an inspection of the windows took place, during which it was recorded that the windows were not installed according to our specifications and the color of the sliding patio door does not match the offer. Regarding this, I received a financial offer of 500 € (approximately 540 USD) today from the company Bechtold without acknowledgment of any legal obligation, which I declined with thanks. This will now have legal consequences.
We received the front door last Monday (from another company), and I can recommend this company without reservation.

Yesterday, I masked off the living room windows so we could proceed with wallpapering and painting. That’s when I noticed this on the lift-and-slide door, which cost me over 3000 euros plus VAT (see picture), something I had overlooked until now. The company Bechtold claims to produce invisible joints. This is what they look like in reality. To me, it looks like a sloppy patch. I would have expected a miter joint. If a know-it-all poster in this forum hadn’t insisted that this company is uniquely high quality, our windows would now be from Weru instead of Bechtold, and we certainly would have been better off.
