Hello everyone,
I was able to agree with the general contractor building our house that we will handle the windows and front door ourselves. Now I am undecided between two options. A well-known local window supplier uses windows and front doors from Weru (AFINO-one). The alternative would be a window company that uses Schüco profiles, specifically the Schüco Thermo 6 (SI 82) Classic profile. The general contractor’s window supplier delivers windows with the Synego profile from Rehau. Does anyone have experience with these?

In our current house, it looks like the way shown in picture 7005. To me, this appears to be a proper job, and the other way looks like poor workmanship. Of course, I could be mistaken.

I’m not an expert, but the installation in the old house seems better to me. In my case (not a new build), the roller shutter guide rails also end just before the windowsills (like in your right picture). The way it looks in the left picture, I would be concerned that the bottom slat of the shutters might get jammed. In my opinion, a small gap is necessary (for water drainage, expansion due to heat), but no more than 5–10mm (0.2–0.4 inches). It’s hard for me to judge from the photo, but I think the gap in your case is larger (2–3cm (0.8–1.2 inches)?).

According to these, the distance between the roller shutter guide rail and the window sill should not exceed 8 mm (0.3 inches). In our case, it is 15 mm (0.6 inches). The photo shows how this looks on one of the windows.
