Since my budget is quite limited, I have been reading more and more about container homes. What do you think about them? Does anyone here have one? When people hear "container home," most initially think, "Hmm..." but if you look around online (I’ve attached an example image from Google), you can really see some impressive results.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how difficult it is to handle the connections and insulation of these homes, or how durable they are. But if it works out, you could start with a small basic house and then add one or two containers in the garden to work on yourself...

If you also put some effort into the exterior appearance of this type of building, it could become a really nice little house, don’t you think?

Thank you. Yes, I understand the document so far. Maximum ridge height 9.5 meters (31 feet), etc. It's just that these abbreviations are not very familiar to me yet.

Cool, then I should be allowed to build a container home...

Only if it meets the energy saving regulations – and that won’t work with your budget...

Sebastian, yes: It will be tight. But since the original poster knows an architect and is willing to contribute their own work, such a project could (conditional) be feasible. It’s difficult. Yes.

I can only encourage the original poster to continue exploring this with their architect. The architect seems to be a friend – so the original poster can probably get advice at a very reasonable cost.

Based on the first plans, we’ll see if it’s a hit or a miss. As I said, it needs to be carefully thought through. It’s doable. The idea is neither absurd nor unreasonable. It’s just “different,” but others have successfully done something like this before. Why not the original poster?

No, only in a fantasy park or Disneyland®... I really don’t understand why you are encouraging the OP’s nonsense... More than ever, I am convinced that they are just pretending to troll.

I understand Thorsten’s "support" to mean that the reality of the situation will soon prove (which a forum cannot do) that the project is not feasible without investing a disproportionate amount...

Everyone, this is about experiences and opinions regarding container homes. I already know that almost everyone here thinks it won’t work, and I don’t want to discuss that again…. This is my project. If anyone wants to answer questions or share their thoughts, feel free to do so. However, I do not want to read any trolling, nonsense, or other inappropriate comments here. If that’s the case, it’s better not to say anything at all^^

Yes, I am even getting advice for free^^ We have already discussed several things regarding energy and heat generation to ensure the house complies with the energy saving regulations (energy efficiency standards). Now I am even more committed and receive interesting, affordable offers by email every day^^
