Since my budget is quite limited, I have been reading more and more about container homes. What do you think about them? Does anyone here have one? When people hear "container home," most initially think, "Hmm..." but if you look around online (I’ve attached an example image from Google), you can really see some impressive results.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how difficult it is to handle the connections and insulation of these homes, or how durable they are. But if it works out, you could start with a small basic house and then add one or two containers in the garden to work on yourself...
If you also put some effort into the exterior appearance of this type of building, it could become a really nice little house, don’t you think?

Peace and patience are not my strong suits^^ I just went for a walk in a community garden area and saw many houses that could originally be shipping containers (maybe they even are). They have wood cladding and don’t look like containers at all, but their size fits perfectly^^
If you want to realize your dream within the budget, developing patience and calmness will HAVE to become one of your new virtues.
You are now on the right track… use the next few weeks for thorough research and discussions with the architect you know and the building authority / planning office. Plan for around 2.5 years + x for this process. You must realistically and clearly demonstrate your building project plan, especially for the bank.
You need to put energy into this now. You have to take action. And a lot of it.
ONLY YOU.
This phase will determine the feasibility of the project and especially the ability to secure financing.
Since the new approach does fit the budget, you can now take the lead as captain…
(and if it works out: I’ll keep my promise with the sausages in Berlin, I’ll catch a flight and come by, sure).

I’m working on managing my impatience^^ by now, I’m quite good at compensating for it. Instead of complaining, I’m decluttering cabinets and selling items through various platforms. Everything I earn goes into the piggy bank, and when it’s full, the money goes into the bank account. Friends have also started sorting out some furniture, which I can now list for sale. Even if the container plan WOULD work, the additional costs— which most banks expect you to cover yourself—would be a major hurdle. But step by step. If I get a no on a request tomorrow, it could be a yes in half a year^^ I’ll definitely keep at it!^^
Hello again, I simply asked the seller of the land about the development plan to find out if it would be allowed to place a container house there.
....... can someone translate something for me?
"You can see from the document that there are no restrictions regarding the building regulations; only the floor area ratio and the site coverage ratio must be observed."

You are allowed to build whatever you want, just not too large.
