I have to admit I have no experience with apartments and renovation costs, so I am asking this question here.
I found an interesting offer for an apartment from the 1970s, but three rooms have very old, worn carpets.
If I decide to buy it, I will have additional costs for renovating the floors.
What is the approximate labor cost per square meter for installing parquet or alternative wood flooring in Munich?
I can find prices for materials online or at DIY stores, but I lack an overview of the labor costs.
It involves three bedrooms where the old carpets would be replaced with wood flooring such as parquet.
Thank you very much for your answers!
Best regards,
SirGawain

Otherwise, I’m not familiar with the prices in Munich. I would estimate around 20€ per square meter (sq ft) plus materials (more for click-lock or glued installations).

Hello questioner.
The removal of the old textile floor covering – excluding disposal and transport – will cost approximately €3.50 to €6.00 per square meter.
Cleaning the substrate from adhesive residues (sanding) will amount to about €1.60 per m².
For the parquet flooring, there are many details to consider.
Should it be installed as a floating floor or glued down?
What type of parquet is to be used: solid wood parquet or engineered wood parquet?
Which wood species, which grading, and will it be delivered and installed with or without surface protection?
Will the property be available for the work with or without furniture in place?
These are all details we do not know here on the forum, but they are crucial for price development.
Therefore, any cost estimation for parquet installation – if given at all – can only be very rough (and therefore hardly useful for you).

... in Munich?...
Best regards,
SirGawain I would rather assume that the costs for the flooring are irrelevant in Munich. They probably account for a fraction of a percent of the total costs – wouldn’t you agree?
