A new building was recently described in a newspaper where the air exchange is regulated through window rebate ventilation.
Is this a reasonable alternative to a controlled ventilation system, and does it help prevent mold?
How exactly does it work?

Even though I usually support "analog" ventilation, in this case, the mechanical ventilation system was not to blame – it would have to adjust automatically with sensors... No, I meant it differently: There was no mechanical ventilation system, which is why it got so stuffy.
This is a discussion that keeps going in circles.
There are simply people who like to drive with the windows slightly open all year round (window ventilation), and then there are those who use automatic climate control (mechanical ventilation with heat recovery) or air conditioning (dedicated fan units) for that purpose.
P.S.: I wouldn’t want to be without my mechanical ventilation with heat recovery anymore.
