Hello everyone,

Our plumber has planned a standard utility sink for the laundry room, with a faucet mounted on the wall above it. I really don’t like this setup and would prefer a solution with a regular washbasin and a pull-out faucet so that a bucket can be filled easily. I have now asked him to just install the piping, and we will take care of installing something different ourselves.

What solutions do you have for your laundry rooms? Photos would be great.

Thanks!

No photo available. We will get a simple utility sink with a standard single-lever mixer tap – that is sufficient for washing shoes and hands. It also takes up less space while offering more capacity.

No photo, as we don’t have one.

I would recommend a kitchen unit without appliances, with an integrated sink, in the utility room.

Yes, exactly @ypg, that was my thought as well. The plumber estimated around 280 € for a washbasin with faucet. We will probably have to add a bit more, but at least we will still have storage space underneath. Google is currently my best friend.

Ikea offers a small kitchen for students for around $79, I think. It’s usable. But we also have a sink, enamel with splash guard, and a wall-mounted faucet. It’s definitely practical and affordable. Here, there is an additional net cost of $180.

Hello,

I would also recommend having a sink.
We have one like that as well.
In the utility room, with a wall-mounted faucet and a swivel spout positioned high enough to fit a large bucket underneath.
Using a hose pulled out in a loop to fill a bucket is not very practical.
In the garage, we have a surface-mounted hot water connection to also allow a hose to be connected for accessing warm water outdoors.
