Hello,

I wanted to ask where it is best to place the Wi-Fi mesh system in a new build.

We have a basement, ground floor, first floor, and attic. The internet connection with the main router is in the basement.

Where is the best place to position the mesh repeaters? One per floor?

Which mesh system would you recommend for a stable Wi-Fi connection?

WiFi 6E operates in the 6 GHz band. Even 802.11ax does not achieve 1 Gbps in the 2.4 GHz band.
For locations where large amounts of data are transferred, the access point should be nearby and within line of sight.
For other uses, 2.4 GHz is generally sufficient.

... and then you run iPerf over wireless and face the reality. It’s not just about the access point, but mainly about the antenna configuration, and here the end device is usually the bottleneck.

Wow, so much partial or incorrect knowledge being thrown around here. Really impressive and, above all, extremely confusing for the original poster, who clearly has no understanding of network technology. For @Pacc666, the simplest Fritz solution is probably the best option. Nothing else will work without external help. And with enough LAN ports near power outlets, you can easily add these devices as needed. It may not look great, but it works.
