Another post gave me the idea to buy a color fan deck since we will be purchasing a new house soon. I have noticed that there is quite a wide selection and they are not so cheap that I would want to buy several right away.
Which color fan deck is most commonly used in the construction industry, and can you recommend one? Which ones have you had good experiences with?
Or is it unnecessary because the colors never really match anyway?

By "buying" a house, I mean purchasing a prefabricated house. When it comes to a solid (or masonry) house, I would talk about "building" a house. I learned the difference from one of the forum members here and find it quite clever. But a prefabricated house doesn’t arrive at your plot by truck, or have you ever seen a house being transported around?
So, are you looking for a prefabricated house or a finished house?

or also there (in the same thread, post #11: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/farbunterschied-zwischen-Fenster-und-Fensterbank.33129/page-2#post-362845 The issue there is the different materials. Window manufacturers, for example carpenters, have color charts showing the texture of the surface.

I learned this distinction from one of the forum members here and I find it quite clever. You are mixing things up: if you are the client, you build a house. Or better said: you have it built. Whether it is solid masonry or timber frame construction. Regardless of whether you work with a general contractor or an architect. Under a construction contract, the house is built exactly as you want it.
If you sign a purchase contract with a property developer, then you are buying a house. With some luck, you may be allowed to make changes to the design or influence the fittings. But the client remains the developer.

that we are buying a prefabricated houseAt the latest during the selection appointment, a color fan deck will be presented to you. Everything up to HBW xx is included; from xx to xx there is an additional charge of €xxx, and above that, an extra fee of €xxxx. You will then choose your color from this. Deciding on a color beforehand (without the provider’s offer and the corresponding price list) makes absolutely no sense.
It’s better to look around new residential areas to get an idea of what you might like and roughly decide on a color family. That is sufficient.
Color swatches used as a sample aid are generally inadequate for people with color blindness and often lead to disappointment: comparing small color patches of about four square centimeters (approximately 0.6 square inches) makes it difficult to accurately judge color harmonies, even with experience. Moreover, once a glossy smooth surface is placed next to a matte coarse texture, the comparison is like apples and pears. Such combinations are especially disappointing when “tone-on-tone” matching or seamless transitions are desired.
