Hello,

Do you have any shrubs in your garden that you particularly like because they have beautiful blooms, attractive foliage color, a nice growth habit, etc.? Can you recommend something that also grows relatively dense near the base?

Best regards,

With the dry conditions, I’m glad everything was delayed and we didn’t plant in the spring. You scare me with thuja hedges—I don’t want anything like that.
We have a wall about 80 cm, maybe even 100 cm (31–39 inches) high. Then the hedges come afterward. The wall is about 40 cm (16 inches) higher than the house’s floor slab. That should provide good privacy, and in the evenings and on weekends, there are no neighbors on that side of the property.

I don’t know what they are called. But in summer, they have these white little balls that pop when you pick them and step on them. Great fun for kids. Wonderful shrub.

The bladder senna shrub is usually located right next to a chain-link fence.

I’m not familiar with fences. There are practically none here.

Copper Serviceberry. It has beautiful blossoms in spring and attractive foliage in autumn. The fruits are also quite tasty. Great for children, especially when there is still something to harvest in the garden. We have it as a standard tree.

So, autumn is planting season, and I browsed a tree nursery last weekend. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time. Above all, I am still looking for shrubs that bloom into autumn and grow to a height between 200-400 cm (79-157 inches).

Does anyone have any tips for me?
