Hello everyone!
I have installed several edging strips using 20x10x8cm (8x4x3 inch) paving stones.

How would you fill the joints to prevent weeds from growing through them?

We don’t have any mow edges at all

So apparently no robot either, right?

Because I think a robot is essential for this...

That's correct. However, many also create mowing edges for their walk-behind mower.

Lay the boundary wire accordingly so that it fits. It works perfectly for us and friends without a 40cm (16 inch) mowing strip. I honestly can’t imagine how a 40cm (16 inch) mowing strip looks or would appear visually.

It depends on the size of the garden. Every robotic lawn mower requires an edge strip to mow properly; otherwise, grass will be left uncut.
The larger all-wheel-drive models need wide edge strips.
However, some mowers can manage with an overhang of 12-15 cm (5-6 inches).
If there are no obstacles behind, edge strips are not necessary.

That’s exactly how it is.
This has little to do with the perimeter wire.
